OUR PROJECTS
USPAAR
UsPaar is a residency space to support performing arts practitioners to create and develop new work, collaborate with other artists, and expand their networks.

Kalpalata has partnered with Tamaasha Studio Foundation to establish UsPaar in Kashid along a scenic coastline 4 hours south of Mumbai. Kalpalata finances the entire maintenance of UsPaar, and contributes towards the programming costs along with other donors. UsPaar is located on land and buildings that are privately owned and have been taken on rent by Kalpalata.

MARG MAGAZINE
Founded in 1946, Marg is India's longest running arts publication. Marg's aim is to develop a socially active and culturally engaging language of art. Marg magazine and books have been a forum for pioneering research in Indian art and are acclaimed for their standards of production and editorial content. Kalpalata has funded a project to develop the audience and readership of publications of Marg.

Kalpalata Fellowship for writers for promising candidates to research and write articles in the public domain for developing larger public awareness in the areas of Classical Music, History & Heritage, Architecture & Urban Issues, and Technology.
AAMHI
Aamhi is a unique, locally-driven community waste management project, where community leaders, residents and village folk have joined hands to rid their neighbourhoods of non-biodegradable waste. Working in 10 Raigad villages in Maharashtra, Aamhi has cleared 200+ tonnes of waste, and recycled, upcycled, and given what was once considered litter, a new lease of life. Kalpalata has provided a grant for funding equipment and infrastructure required.

IIT MUMBAI
IIT Bombay is India’s premier engineering institute. Kalpalata has contributed towards the Karnnik-Ganesh Scholarship Fund, IIT Bombay Alumni Association in order to support needy students who join IIT Bombay with their tuition fee and living expenses.
MASINA HOSPITAL
Founded in 1902, Masina Hospital is a public trust run health care institute which has worked and served Mumbai city during two pandemics, Spanish Flu in 1918 and Covid 19 today. Kalpalata grant is towards building infrastructure capacity and capabilities.

ASHA DAAN
A home in Mumbai for abandoned and differently-abled children, HIV-positive people, and the destitute. Managed by the Missionaries of Charity (founded by Mother Teresa), this gift of hope has provided shelter to many over the last four decades. Housed in a 72,500-square feet plot that belongs to HUL, Asha Daan is developing the facility further with medical equipments and physiotherapy facilities. Kalpalata has part funded this expansion in medical facilities.
